 | Diversification of fisheries areasThe current socio-economic challenges facing the European fisheries call for a wide range of measures to improve the livelihoods of fishermen and their families, as well as other inhabitants of fisheries communities. One option opened up by Axis 4 of the EFF is the economic diversification of fisheries areas.This guide is addressed to those FLAGs which include diversification as one of the objectives of their strategies, as well as for potential beneficiaries wishing to implement diversification projects. It aims to address questions around why and how to diversify fisheries areas and includes an overview of different diversification options which can be adapted to help fishing communities around Europe build stronger economies for the future.             |
